More than Scuba Diving

Located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is a vast archipelago of 26 natural atolls stretching across more than 800 kilometers. Liveaboard vessels such as White Pearl provide the ideal platform to explore this expansive region, allowing divers to move seamlessly between atolls and access sites far beyond the reach of resort-based diving.

The Maldives offers year-round diving in warm, clear waters, with excellent visibility and a diverse range of dive environments, including vibrant coral thilas, deep channels (kandus), and cleaning stations. With hundreds of dive sites spread across Ari, Male, Vaavu, and Baa Atolls, the region is renowned for its rich marine biodiversity and consistent encounters with pelagic species.

Ocean currents flowing through the channels attract manta rays, whale sharks, reef sharks, eagle rays, and large schools of fish, creating dynamic and exhilarating drift dives. While island resorts are often limited to nearby sites, liveaboards like White Pearl enable divers to explore multiple atolls in a single journey, delivering a more complete and immersive Maldivian diving experience.

Getting There

Maldives liveaboards like White Pearl typically embark from Malé, the country’s capital. Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé is well-connected with direct flights from major hubs such as Dubai, Doha, Singapore, and Colombo. Upon arrival, guests are usually transferred to the liveaboard by speedboat or seaplane, depending on the itinerary and embarkation point.
